Refund policy

Free trial

Every new account gets 30 credits for free, valid for 14 days. No credit card required. The free trial is the right place to evaluate ClauseLogic before purchasing — you can extract data from your own documents, generate at least one deliverable, and see whether the platform works for your use case.

Credit packs

Credits are non-refundable once purchased. Credits never expire while your account is active, so there is no time pressure to use them — you can buy a pack today and spend the credits months later.

We don't refund unused credits because:

  • The 30-credit free trial is enough to evaluate fit before paying.
  • Credits don't expire, so there's no risk of losing value over time.
  • This matches industry practice for prepaid software credits (AWS, Google Cloud, Stripe, OpenAI).

Annual subscriptions (Pro / Firm)

30-day money-back guarantee. If you cancel a Pro or Firm annual subscription within 30 days of purchase, you get a full refund — no questions asked.

After 30 days there is no pro-rata refund for the remainder of the annual term. You retain access until the period ends.

Australian Consumer Law guarantees

The terms above describe ClauseLogic's commercial refund policy. They do not override the consumer guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

If ClauseLogic is materially defective, was mis-described, or is not fit for the purpose we sold it for, you are entitled to a refund or replacement under ACL — regardless of the policy above. ACL guarantees cannot be contracted out of.

Examples of cases we'd refund under this clause:

  • A deliverable failed to generate due to a platform bug, and credits were spent.
  • The platform was unavailable for a sustained period, preventing use of credits you'd purchased.
  • A feature was advertised but didn't work as described.

How to request a refund

Email support@clauselogic.com.au with:

  • The email address on your ClauseLogic account.
  • The Stripe payment ID (starts with pi_) or the date and amount of the charge.
  • The reason you're requesting the refund.

We'll respond within one business day (Australian time). If the request is approved, refunds are processed via the original payment method through Stripe and typically arrive within 5–10 business days depending on your card issuer.
